Live, Love, Serve

Special Services

Special Blessings: “By blessing something or someone, one invokes God’s presence and invites the sacred into the mundane, the holy into the ordinary.” * This is our practice as people of faith. We give special name and claim to who we are…and whose we are. Then we celebrate the events, the people, the creatures, the accomplishments of our community. Lutheran Campus Ministry has been involved with the blessing of animals, plants, new homes. And we hope to continue to create meaningful rituals that honor the gifts of this community.

Healing Services: These services focus on restoring ourselves and our world to the wholeness God envisions for us. Songs, prayers, and liturgy reflect the desire to be healed of physical, spiritual, and mental wounds. Each person may come forward for a blessing and anointing with oil if they wish. These services are done periodically, especially in the season of Lent, or on request.
