Our goal is to fundraise the entire cost of our Alternative Spring Break Trip to Guatemala. One way we fund this is through Fair Trade Guatemalan Craft Sales! We love selling at area churches and local universities. If you would like us to set-up at your organization, please contact lcm-stl@sbcglobal.net.
Our crafts are handmade by women in Guatemala City who are the primary income source for their family. The crafts make beautiful, unique gifts and are supporting two great causes!
We have included part of our craft inventory on this page along with pricing! We are offering online purchasing. If you would like to make an order, please email the list of the items you want to lcm-stl@sbcglobal.net. We will contact you once we have received your order to confirm the items and the price. Online ordering has a 15% shipping and pay pal fee which will be added at that time.
We also have the dates and locations where we are selling crafts listed at the bottom of the page if you would care to peruse them in person. Enjoy!

Our lovely terracotta pieces are made from the riverbed clay of the Chenautla area of Guatemala. Families sculpt each piece by hand, dry it in the sun, paint it with a red clay slip, polish it, and then finally fire it. The firing process involves placing the objects on a grate above a pine bark fire with a covering of grass for 2-3 hours. The occasional unique black spot can sometimes be found on the piece and is a tribute to this ancient firing process.
